The title for Rory’s talk is: “Overcoming Mental/Emotional Problems and Dealing with Vasanas”
This satsang will focus on the successful management of mental and emotional issues faced by seekers on the path. Ben will share his unique insight as both a medical doctor and Vedanta teacher, exploring different approaches and techniques for managing and resolving emotional pain and psychological disturbance. Rory will then unfold the nature of mind, thought and vasanas—examining both how they work and how to effectively manage and negate them.

Ben’s talk is titled: “Speaking As Consciousness” – Self-Integration
As Ben says: My experience with seekers, including myself, is the ingrained problem of identification with the body and the mind and the difficulty in overcoming it. As you know, from identification springs all psychological problems. I found dealing with psychological issues may resolve one problem but other problems emerge. It is a never-ending series of problems with personality since the persona is inherently defective.
So, I try to link this problem of identification and the need to de-identify, into the topic being discussed. It acts as a reminder to work on overcoming identification. The ability to view the body and mind as objects is critical, a watershed. I found seekers who work seriously on de-identification tend to better understand and identify as Consciousness.
