(Part 4) Neutralizing Likes and Dislikes

We were sad to see our happy group depart at the end of another wonderful seminar in Spain.
The week has flown by and we enjoyed some time to regroup before Ramji and I head off on our respective travels next week. Don't miss an opportunity to attend and be with Ramji 'live':
In November, as Ramji will be busy teaching seminars in Amsterdam and Germany for three of the four weekends, I will teach on one of the Sundays, the 3rd November and Ben de Silva is going to teach the weekend of the 17th November. As I will be in Bali and Ben is in Australia, the time difference will mean a change in time for Europe and the US for both events, which we will confirm closer to the time. We hope this will not be too much of an inconvenience to you, and adjustments will be possible. Rory will teach the weekend of the 24th, at the usual 7pm CET slot.
This is my last weekend in Spain for a while, and I will continue with the teaching on neutralizing likes and dislikes, which underpins all issues relating to the jiva, and the assimilation and application of nondual living. Kate Finn will be with us after returning from New York, and our good friend Joanne Daly from California will be with us too, having just walked many kilometres of the pilgrimage path from Portugal to Spain. Hopefully these two jnanis will join in the teaching.

7. Book of the Week: Vedanta, the Big Picture
This excellent book is based on talks by Swami Paramarthanada of Chennai, South India, disciple of Swami Dayananda and India’s pre-eminent living teacher of traditional Vedanta. It gives a straightforward outline of the essential teachings in clear modern English. It includes chapters on Motivations, The Scriptures, Society and the Stages of Life, Karma Yoga, Upasana Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Bhakti, Qualifications for Liberation, The Three Bodies and the Five Sheaths, The Self, Creation, The Oneness of Jiva and Isvara and Liberation and Karma. It was lovingly transcribed by one of the Swami’s disciples and beautifully edited by Rory McKay. In keeping with ShiningWorld standards it is Sanskrit lite but retains essential terminology. It is recommended for beginning and intermediate students of Vedanta. It is also recommended for the growing number of people who wish to teach Vedanta, as it provides all the basic concepts with remarkable clarity.
